Celebrating AAJA Sacramento’s 2025 Accomplishments

We continue to invest in our members and partner with a range of organizations on programs and projects that make an impact. Here’s a quick snapshot of 2025, which was AAJA Sacramento’s 40th anniversary:

  • Hosted a Lunar New Year dim sum mixer and a summer mixer for chapter members.
  • Partnered with The Sacramento Bee for the 16th year to sponsor the internship of AAJA student member Kat Tran.
  • Provided financial assistance to help nine members attend the AAJA national convention in Seattle.
  • Organized a California social mixer at the convention in collaboration with the Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco Bay Area chapters.
  • Provided three professional stipends to support members attend the Executive Leadership Program, other journalism conventions and a Spanish language class.
  • Helped provide financial support to the AAJA Photo affinity group.
  • Collaborated with Sacramento State’s Ethnic Studies Studies Department for the Stop the Hate: Amplifying Asian American Stories event for a powerful evening of student films, art and conversation on Asian American representation in media.
